A report released this week revealed that social messaging apps such as Whatsapp, Blackberry Messenger and Facebook’s chat feature have lost mobile network fims $13.9 dollars in revenue in 2011 because handset users are no longer using SMS text messages to contact each other. Social messaging apps allow mobile handset users to make use of their devices’ internet connection to message each other.
The study by Analysis firm Ovum did not take in to account revenue gained by the extra use of mobile internet however in which operators charge for mobile data costs. In the UK at least mobile data charges have seen a drop in recent weeks due to a price war amongst mobile network providers. Social messaging app Whatsapp has taken off in 2011 with over 4% of UK smartphone users having used it but 81% of us still use SMS text messaging on our phone at some time or other.
We recently came across TrafficDial and have been using it to get feedback on our website. It’s a great way to get your site out there, get some extra visitors to your site (especially if you are just starting out) and get some feedback on what is good and bad about your site and what can be improved. In order to get these visitors and feedback you too must give feedback on other sites, at least an average of one a day. You can miss a day and then do two the next so long as you average one a day. Each review takes 2-3 minutes and requires you to write a few words.

Vidahost are a breath of fresh air in the very busy and competitive hosting market. Based in the UK, but with customers worldwide, they continue to offer a second-to-none customer service even though they have grown very quickly, often through word of mouth. Angry Frog has used them for many years and nothing has ever been too much trouble.
The array of services and add-ons they offer, even with the most basic of packages is impressive. Every hosting package comes with the industry leading cPanel. They offer shared hosting, dedicated hosting, even cloud based hosting, one of the very first companies to do so. Hosting starts from as little as £2.99 per month (minus VAT). Domains start from as little as £7.49 for .coms.
Angry Frog has been given a coupon code that will allow you to get 10% off of any hosting order. The coupon code is ANGRYFROG . Click here to use it.

Apple have today released an update for their Lion operating system – namely update 10.7.3. The update brings with it some improvements for compatibility with Windows Active Directory and Windows file sharing among other things.
Angry Frog has yet to try the update on his Hackintosh and instead, will wait for others to try it out first. If you plan to update to 10.7.3 make sure to back up your Mac or Hackintosh before proceeding. And we’ll let you know how we get on with it on our Hackintosh when we can pluck up the courage to install it.
More details of the update can be found at the Apple website here.
